THE NEAT REVIEW is a long-form book imprint exploring the crossovers between art and magic.
We work with an unparalleled roster of magicians and artists to create
our Journal, Live Events and Books. We also made our own (now sadly sold out) playing cards.
FEATURED IN:
IT’S NICE THAT
“…plus some sultrily shot how-to-guides for hand sleights, THE NEAT REVIEW does a great job of making magic community look cool, welcoming and – dare we say it – a little bit sexy.”
MAGCULTURE
“The +200-page format and textured, monochrome cover give a satisfying tone, which continues with the strong typography inside… a really fascinating window into the strangely beguiling world of magic — beautifully done.”
LARRY HORAYNE
“The fact that a cognitive analysis of deception can co-exist in a mag along with modern magic history of New York, card sleights and a 30-page interview with one of the best performers alive today, is simply just… neat.”
Each issue of THE NEAT REVIEW is set in a different city around the world. Many of our contributors don’t do magic professionally, but rather are painters, photographers, cognitive psychologists, writers, actors, hackers, and so on.
Through interviews, essays and articles, we explore how sleight of hand can be applied to the broader landscapes of the arts, philosophy and technology.
And, of course, we learn plenty of card tricks along the way.
